So this is a question I get all of the time. Will you bring miles in to your bed to sleep with you? My answer is always no there isn’t enough room. People always give me a weird look when I explain the dogs take up too much room. Here is proof, I still need to fit in there somewhere as well.
These days the pregnancy seems to be on cruise control… the weeks are ticking by and the bump is growing steadily. Lately we’ve been working a lot around the house getting things cleaned out and organized and working on Miles’ room as well. We have the crib and mattress done, a little table and chairs set built and are slowly filling the closet with clothes and a diaper supply.
We took a hospital tour over the weekend and it made me even more excited about everything. The maternity ward at our hospital is fairly new and advanced and offers really nice accommodations for me, Mike and the baby so we are very happy with our hospital choice. We start up our classes in a few months on different topics so more on those later!
We’re starting our next big project tonight… finding a nanny/babysitter! We have our first interviewee coming over tonight and are very hopeful they are a right fit. Our top choice would be to find someone willing and able to come to our home each workday since I work from a home office. This would just be so convenient for a multitude of reasons. So keep your fingers crossed our candidate search is short and successful!
I’ve recently mapped out my maternity leave plans and am happy that I will be able to take off a full 8 weeks and then work 2 weeks of part time before going back full time. I’m sure this time will fly by though but I’m happy nonetheless.
I know my blog posts aren’t as entertaining as Mikes… I recently gave him a hard time about his lack of posting. I’m sure he’ll work up something fun soon.
I’ve been able to feel Miles move for a while now but the last few weeks he’s really started to kick! Yesterday he was really moving so I decided to watch my belly and see if I could see it move when he kicked… and I could! It was the oddest and coolest thing! So after dinner Mike watched for a while and saw it move too and got to feel Miles move for the first time. So cool!
To most of you it’s common knowledge that pregnancy causes some serious heartburn. I mean like woah heartburn. These days I can’t function without Tums and I’m amazed by their awesomeness everyday. I find them disgusting to eat but less than a moment later they are already working… I love instant gratification! So on this Friday I thought I’d share an example of me and how much I love tums. Please picture me as the lovely bear.
Miles might be welcomed into the world by a mom that doesn’t have braces! Every baby’s dream, I’m sure! I found out yesterday that Dr. John (my orthodontist) wants to get my braces off before Miles is here! He said several times that “we’re close”… this is the first time he’s ever given me a possible de-bracing date so it’s a big deal. He said we would shoot for early may so there was time to get my retainers and all that squared away. I’ve had these things on for almost two years so needless to say I’m EXCITED!!!!
We are over halfway through the pregnancy. I’m now 20 weeks and 2 days along, only 19 weeks and 5 days to go. YAY! Mike and I just registered for all our classes at the hospital like childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, baby care and daddy boot camp. Should be very enlightening! Baby showers are being scheduled and I’ve starting buying diapers and clothes here and there as well. I’m now feeling Miles move and kick on a daily basis. It’s a really weird, but cool, feeling. Mike hasn’t felt it yet, but hopefully soon. I guess this is really happening!
I got kimi a Flip UltraHD Camcorder for christmas. She has been recording everything! Pretty soon it will be recording nothing but baby stuff i bet. So we are starting a youtube channel to upload our videos to share with everyone. I’m sure a lot of them will end up on the blog but if you want to subscribe to our youtube channel so you don’t miss one or want to see more here is the link http://www.youtube.com/user/FowlerPower812. Below is our first video, enjoy.
