So we are supposed to be ‘prepared’ now…

We learned about everything from false labor to real labor and all the stages. We learned about breathing (we both almost fell asleep during this) and positions. We learned about medical interventions (and felt like everyone looked down upon me when I admitted I wanted an epidural). And we learned about post-partum care (which sounds dreadful). I’m sure the highlight for Mike was watching the videos (from the 80s) in all their gory detail. I mean really I know it’s educational but I really didn’t enjoy seeing the baby actually come out of someone (2 different times on two different videos!). I don’t plan on watching it during my own birth so why did I have to watch it during someone else’s? Ick.
But overall it was a beneficial day. I learned some things and I think Mike learned a lot. I don’t know if it’s going to prevent me from freaking out and yelling at Mike when I go into labor, but it’s a nice thought.
We still have breastfeeding, basic baby care and a daddy boot camp (for Mike) on the agenda over the next 2 months!
I think I would pay good money to be able to witness Mike at Daddy boot camp
