Don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally naive… but… WOW this is exhausting! :)

Miles is doing good! We had a doctor appointment this morning and they said his color was better ( was a little yellow when we left the hospital ). He’s lost a few more ounces do were hoping mow that my milk is coming in he’ll be gaining very soon.

He’s been feeding every 90 minutes today which is kicking my butt. By the time I feed him, pass him off to Mike and pump for a few minutes inhave about 50 min before it’s time to do it again! Whew!

He’s also now pretty much refusing to sleep unless bring held so Mike and I aren’t getting much sleep at all. Please say a little prayer for us!

But I’m so in love with him. And with Mike who is doing a great job!

Pregnant women…

I couldn’t resist posting this… so funny!

April is here!

Hard to believe it’s already April and that our little man is likely to arrive next month! (Unless he is really mean and waits until June) The weeks are flying by now and everything is coming together. Mike’s been busy around the house getting things done and we have pretty much all the ‘basics’ needed for Miles. We have another baby shower this weekend in Vermilion and are very excited!

I’ve been feeling decent. I shouldn’t complain. Everything is healthy and progressing. But I’m definitely to that stage of being really sick of being pregnant. It’s so hard to even get out of bed, which is amplified by the need to get up a minimum of 5 times a night to pee. Sleeping on my side is making my hips ache. (I’m normally a tummy sleeper) And sleeping on my back isn’t allowed at this point. I’m starting to swell off and on. Some days I can wear my rings, some days I can’t. I’m also starting to have Braxton Hicks contractions. These are normal and not painful at this point but can become quite annoying.

So other than me complaining about being the size of a small house everything is good. I am now going to checkups every other week and we have an ultrasound at the end of the month to check out Miles’ size and position. Can’t believe he’s due in just under 7 weeks!!!!

So we’ve been having some really lovely weather in Vermilion which has Mike out back getting his golf game warmed up. I’ve been watching, and being sad cause there isn’t a whole lot of golf in my future this year. Right now I’m a bit too big to golf comfortably and I’ll be pretty busy the rest of the golf season. Well yesterday I just couldn’t resist and longer and had to take a few shots. It wasn’t pretty.

So we are supposed to be ‘prepared’ now…

Mike and I spent our Saturday holed up in the hospital learning all about childbirth. We learned about everything from false labor to real labor and all the stages. We learned about breathing (we both almost fell asleep during this) and positions. We learned about medical interventions (and felt like everyone looked down upon me when I admitted I wanted an epidural). And we learned about post-partum care (which sounds dreadful). I’m sure the highlight for Mike was watching the videos (from the 80s) in all their gory detail. I mean really I know it’s educational but I really didn’t enjoy seeing the baby actually come out of someone (2 different times on two different videos!). I don’t plan on watching it during my own birth so why did I have to watch it during someone else’s? Ick.

But overall it was a beneficial day. I learned some things and I think Mike learned a lot. I don’t know if it’s going to prevent me from freaking out and yelling at Mike when I go into labor, but it’s a nice thought. :)

We still have breastfeeding, basic baby care and a daddy boot camp (for Mike) on the agenda over the next 2 months!
