Miles might be welcomed into the world by a mom that doesn’t have braces! Every baby’s dream, I’m sure! I found out yesterday that Dr. John (my orthodontist) wants to get my braces off before Miles is here! He said several times that “we’re close”… this is the first time he’s ever given me a possible de-bracing date so it’s a big deal. He said we would shoot for early may so there was time to get my retainers and all that squared away. I’ve had these things on for almost two years so needless to say I’m EXCITED!!!!
We are over halfway through the pregnancy. I’m now 20 weeks and 2 days along, only 19 weeks and 5 days to go. YAY! Mike and I just registered for all our classes at the hospital like childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, baby care and daddy boot camp. Should be very enlightening! Baby showers are being scheduled and I’ve starting buying diapers and clothes here and there as well. I’m now feeling Miles move and kick on a daily basis. It’s a really weird, but cool, feeling. Mike hasn’t felt it yet, but hopefully soon. I guess this is really happening!
For those of you interested in the details from the ultrasound… Everything looked great! The tech took all kinds of measurements. He has average length legs and a fat belly. His head and other parts all measured normal and healthy. We even got to see his very full bladder. He was moving around like crazy! HB was a healthy 155 BPM. He now weighs around 7-8 ounces which is normal as well. Yay for a very healthy baby boy.
I thought it was about time that this future baby’s siblings get some blog face time. We are ‘those’ kind of people who love and treat our dogs like kids. They are spoiled and we don’t care. I can’t help that we have the cutest dogs to ever exist.
So I’ve finally broken down and purchased some maternity jeans. I just wasn’t enjoying the feeling of my jeans getting tighter by the day. I thought I was really going to hate maternity jeans. Um, wrong!
I wore them yesterday for the first time and had never enjoyed my monthly mexican lunch at Don Tequilas so much. No Belly-Over-Pants feeling afterward! Amazing!
Last night when I took them off even Mike admitted he was kind of jealous. I mean, maternity pants are the best of both worlds. Jeans by appearance, sweatpants by comfort.
I’ve decided I think every woman should own a pair, even if you aren’t pregnant. C’mon we all have those days where we have to wear jeans or slacks but would kill for the comfort of sweat pants… guess what… these exist! Do yourself a favor and go out and pick up a pair. Best you’ll be wishing you did on Thanksgiving…
Yesterday we got to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time at the doctor. It was such a relief for the doctor to find it right away and everything was good. 174 bmp!
We celebrated with burgers and cheese fries! YUM!
We also scheduled our next ultrasound at which we will find out the baby’s sex! December 16th! Check our our poll on the right sidebar to vote on if you think it will be a boy or girl.
