I’d say my most severe pregnancy symptom thus far has been this thing people call ‘pregnancy brain.’

If you aren’t sure what this is please read on:

Pregnancy brain is a condition that affects expectant mothers, usually during the first and third trimesters. Sometimes known as placenta brain or baby brain drain, the condition is usually characterized by short-term memory loss or forgetfulness. Some medical experts say that pregnancy brain is a myth, but evidence shows that many women have experienced this condition.

And let me tell you… it’s NO myth!

In case you need evidence again please read on:

1. Today I tried to pay for a meal at a restaurant with my State of Ohio drivers license. It didn’t work.

2.  Saturday I swore to Mike I bought poptarts at the store and they didn’t give them to me. I even checked the receipt and saw I paid for them. I then got pissed that I got ripped off by the bagger. Mike then opens the lazy susan I was just putting groceries in and and front and center are the poptarts.

3. I have, on more than one occasion, put a box of goldfish crackers into the fridge. (Haven’t told anyone this until now… not even Mike)

4. Went to an OSU game a few weekends ago. Swore 10 times that week that I wouldn’t forget the tickets on the fridge. Forgot the tickets on the fridge.

5. CONSTANTLY leaving oven and stovetop on.

Ok, that’s enough sharing for now.

What do you want to be called?

Somehow Mike and I were talking about what the baby would call us. I was saying I would prefer ‘Mommy’ over ‘Momma’.

Mike said the baby could call him ‘Master Chief’.

masterchief

Yes, this is a character from the video game, Halo.

…watch Marley & Me while your hormones are out of whack. Worst idea ever. Trust me, I know the movie would have made me cry no matter what. But the hysterical sobbing I was producing was not normal. Poor Mike, I probably looked like something out of the Exorcist.

Ohhhh, an added bonus.

As you may have already seen, you can click the link at the top of our page to ‘vote’ on baby names. Just something fun for us to share. And no, the votes will not be the determining factor in our baby’s name. But if you  have any fun suggestions please leave a comment with it and let us know! :)

231 days to go.

Posted: October 4th, 2009 | Author: kimifowler | Filed under: kimi's posts | No Comments »

7 weeks today! Hitting each week milestone feels great! I’m also feeling pretty good so far. Just tired all the time. Just glad I’m not yakking everywhere. I almost lost it in the grocery store due to the overwhelming smell of the dog food aisle but other than that I’m good to go!

Say hello to our little friend.

6 weeks 1 day

So I guess this little speck is measuring 6 weeks and 1 day – Due May 23rd!

Tick, Tock.

Our first appointment is Monday morning, it’s taking forever to get here! I’m not one to wish away weekends but I wish it were Monday already!

Other than severe impatience I’m just tired and feel yucky! Sleeping has been a challenge. I’m exhausted but am up every 2 hours on the dot and cannot sleep past 6 a.m. no matter what time I go to bed. Slightly annoying, but oh well!
