Mr. Miles is 11 days old! Time really does fly by. He’s growing so fast. We went to the breastfeeding support group at the hospital last night and he now weighs 7 Lbs! That’s 11 ounces gained in 3 days. Woo! What a relief to know that he’s getting plenty to eat.
Last night was by far the best sleep. He slept for almost 4 hours and then almost 3 hours. Amazing!
Grandma Kathy was also up yesterday for a visit and left this morning. It was nice to have some adult company!
Tonight will be my first test of being away from Miles. I am getting my hair done and will be gone for a few hours. I know Mike is more than capable to handle him on his own but I can’t help but be stressed. But, it will have to happen sooner or later.
We’re hoping that this yucky stormy weather leaves soon so we can get out of the house for our first walk. Hopefully this weekend! An hopefully next week I am brave enough to venture out with Miles to meet Mike for lunch.
Tomorrow Kristi & Sherri are coming to visit, yay!

Ok I’m a few hours late but Happy mothers day! I am very lucky to have a great mom and mother-in-law.
Today we took Miles to the hospital to get his weight checked. During the visit we also got to do a feeding with the lactation consultant. Miles is back up to his birth weight… yay! She was very impressed with our progress and said he’s gonna be a chunker before we know it!
She also warned us that he’ll
probably go through a growth spurt over the next 4-5 days so to be prepared for him to be very hungry. And unfortunately he definitely prefers to do all his power feeding at night.
We are very releived and happy he’s gaining weight! Keep it up Miles!
Tomorrow ( or technically today ) Mike goes back to work. I’m a little scared and nervous for him to be gone but I’m sure Miles and I will be just fine. Say a little prayer for us!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally naive… but… WOW this is exhausting!
Miles is doing good! We had a doctor appointment this morning and they said his color was better ( was a little yellow when we left the hospital ). He’s lost a few more ounces do were hoping mow that my milk is coming in he’ll be gaining very soon.
He’s been feeding every 90 minutes today which is kicking my butt. By the time I feed him, pass him off to Mike and pump for a few minutes inhave about 50 min before it’s time to do it again! Whew!
He’s also now pretty much refusing to sleep unless bring held so Mike and I aren’t getting much sleep at all. Please say a little prayer for us!
But I’m so in love with him. And with Mike who is doing a great job!

Just got done watching taligadaga nights. Forgot how funny that movie is. The nurses even stopped and watched for a second laughing. Now I know Kimi and Miles are in good hands.
The delieveing doctor stopped in and checked her, almost 5 cm. They gave her potosan to get the contractions closer together. The window for miles birthday being one day afters Kimi is down to only 2 more hours.

At about 8 o’clock Kimi was 4 cm dialiated. The doctor came in and broke her water shortly after that. The anistegalogist then gave Kimi an epidural and now she is gettng her first winks of sleep in 36 hours. Epidurals are amazing. Going from painful contractions to sleep in a matter of minutes. I might try to get a couple of winks my self.

This event starts on a warm may night on May 1st. We were going to go to a wedding in Columbus for Kimi’s but decided not to go since it was a far drive. Kimi would of been uncomfortable the whole time and the outside chance something could happen. Better safe than sorry.
So I went to my grandma and helped spread 40 tons of dirt. Kimi went out for lunch for her birthday with my mom and a couple of friends. When they got home they woke me from my nap that lasted about 45 minutes. All was well, they did alot of walking and shopping. We were waiting for the cavs vs celtics game come on at 8 which was two hours away. So I was hungry and made a grilled cheese for me since Kimi didn’t want anything. I sat down to eat it when they started.
Contractions were begining. We were skeptical if they were real or not. I mean Miles wasn’t due for three more weeks he can’t be coming early. I w the episode of the office where Jim and Pam have there baby so I knew when we should go to the hospital. Contractions 5 minutes apart duration 1 minute and they are to intense to talk through. Kimi started her contraction master app on her iPhone to record all of that information. They started out being about 7 minutes apart and not that bad of pain. She went and got some fruitloops to eat for dinner and her contractions were getting worse so she claims her loops were getting soggy while she was waiting for her contractions to stop.
The pregame was starting went her first contraction was 5 minutes apart and I was think I was going to miss an amazing game. The games starts and they cavs are playing like poop. Right before the first quater Kimi says “i’m going to start to get my thing together for the hospital at least you got to watch the start of the game.” she gets up and moves around and the contractions slow down now and they are back to 7 minutes apart. We got the all of thing in order to leave but are waiting for them to get closer and more intense.
The second half of the started and Kimi is about 6 minutes apart when Mo Williams dunks on Paul Peirce. The cavs have an amazing second half and pull off the victory. So I’m like sweet I’m ready to go to the hospital now. But Kimi still isn’t there yet.
It is now 11:30 and she decides that we should go just in case since she has had contractions 5 minutes apart for 45 minutes. Loaded up the car with the travel stuff and we were on the road to the hospital. Durning the car ride I hoping there would be a sweet pregnancy song even though I don’t know what would qualify as one. The only song that I was really hoping that would play was salt n pepper – push it.
We were approaching the hospital and I was wanting to use the super secret maternity entrance. Kimi was against it because we weren’t exactly sure where it was. So we decided in the parking garage that has a second floor walkway over the street that leads right to the elevator to get to the maternity wing. I pulled to the garage and the gate is down and no one is letting us in. So we park next to the garage and try to get to the walkway. The door is locked but we get buzzed in. Of course the doors are locked to the stairs and elevator to get to the second floor. All of the main entrance are locked to the hospital and we have to walk around to the emergency entrance.
When we got to the maternity wing they check us in to a room at 12:30. They were just monitoring her and the baby and would admit us if it looked like we were going to have the baby. They hooked up a baby monitor and a thing to. Monitor contractions which looked to be coming every 3 minutes. They checked to see if she was dilated and she was 1 centimeter. Looking good since she was zero at her doctors apt on wednesday. An hour later the contractions are the same and they checked her again ad she was still only 1 cenemeter dilated.
A doctor finally came in at 2:30 the doctor said that the contractions were because of a UTI. They gave her an IV with antibiotics for the UTI. The contractions started to slow down and became less intense. We got discharged at 4:30 a prescription to pick up in the morning. On the drive home the contractions went back to the pre hospital state. Five o’clock my head hit the pillow and i was asleep.
I was woken up to get kimis prescription filled. Of course i had to wait forever because they couldn’t read the doctors hand writing. While i was waiting I though I would be nice and get kimi some doughnuts for breakfast. I got the crispy cream glazed with chocolate. When I get home I give her the doughnuts she responds with don’t you know I only like the regular glazed. Good idea me poor execution.
Kimi never got any sleep and the contractions were a around 5-6 minutes and growing in intensity. She had about all of the pain she could take at 1:45 and called the on call doctor. She returned her call at three o’clock. With the growing intensity of the contractions she said we should head back in to the hospital to get check just to be safe. So we are off to the hospital again.
As we are arriving I spot the super secret maternity parking and entrance. It took us right up to the maternity wing and it was much easier than what we went though last night. We get checked in to the same room with the same stuff hooked up to her. They said that they couldn’t do anything for her if she wasn’t in labor. The checked her and she was 2-3 centimeter dilated and about 90% effaced. They went to check with the doctor with there findings. We were hopeful but unsure what they would do. They admitted her in to the hospital at 4:45 and this baby thing looks like it’s going to happen.
Stay tuned for more hopefully in the hours to come.
